The difference between laser cutting machine and flame plasma cutting machine
Cutting technology has important applications in the processing of precision machinery and equipment. Good cutting technology can improve cutting efficiency and cutting quality. Both laser cutting and flame cutting belong to thermal cutting. What are the differences between them?
1. Laser cutting
Laser cutting is using a high power density laser beam to irradiate the material to be cut, so that the material is quickly heated to the vaporization temperature and evaporated to form holes. Cut the seam to complete the cutting of the material. Since there is no tooling cost, laser cutting equipment is also suitable for producing small batches of parts of various sizes that were previously inaccessible. Laser cutting equipment usually adopts computerized numerical control technology (CNC) device. With this device, cutting data can be received from a computer-aided design (CAD) workstation using a telephone line.
2. Flame cutting
Flame cutting is a common way of roughing steel plates. It cuts metal thicknesses from 1mm to 1.2m, but when the vast majority of mild steel plates you need to cut are below 20mm thick, other cutting methods should be used. Flame cutting is to use the high temperature generated during the combustion of iron oxide to cut carbon steel. The design of the flame cutting torch provides sufficient oxygen for burning iron oxide to ensure good cutting results.
Flame cutting equipment is low cost and the only cost-effective means of cutting thick sheet metal, but it has its shortcomings when it comes to thin sheet cutting. Compared with laser, the heat affected zone of flame cutting is much larger, and the thermal deformation is relatively large. In order to cut accurately and effectively, the operator needs to have superb skills to avoid the thermal deformation of the metal plate in time during the cutting process.
